Paintings

Mon dieu! I feel in flux. Not in acid re-flux...but as in unrest. Lately, I just wish I knew all the right things to do and the right things to say.

And if I've called you lately and hung up before you can answer or before leaving a message...it's the flux.

I finally am calling these finished. I've been working on them since the beginning of April and have been contemplating them each night after dinner.

Saturday. Yay! And the best part ofcourse it's a 3 day weekend!

So yes, it's Saturday and while I'm sure ya'll are getting your drink and grooves on, I spent mine getting my shopping, worms, eating, and painting on. And that's only cause I live totally dangerously you see.

By the way...the worms were not for my eating pleasure, but for our gecko Lizardo. He likes to eat worms. Me? I can't stand them and the thought of them gives me the heebie geebies. But I have to admit...watching that little fella stalk and then attack the icky little creatures brings back childhood memories and the thrill we used to get watching Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom.

Because I am forever catching up instead of keeping up, I've finally finished a painting I started in December.

Whew!

The holidays always bring about a feeling of wanting to embrace everything at once and never let go. One of my most favorite feeling and memory was when I first became a mommy. So this one's for all the mommies out there. :)

Thank you to all of you who have been writing asking if I'll be doing anything this time around to help raise money for the hurricane victims. The answer to that is YES!!!:)

I thought it would be fun to do an auction for the pieces this time around. 30% of the funds raised will be donated to the hurricane victims. So you'll still be able to make a dontation to help other people as well as have an original painting to hang in your home or office! I will post a receipt of the total donation amount and the winner(s) of the auction pieces here at the close of the auction.

I was originally thinking of including this in the Katrina Relief Challenge, but it's so huge to ship it will cost me an arm and a leg, and most possibly a couple of fingers. And really, I'm kinda attached to my arms, legs and fingers, so I'll do a smaller variation and hopefully someone will want to snatch that one up. ;)
