One Hundred and One

Posted On: August 8, 2004 - 10:26pm by groovebunny

I had a dream about us. Not us in the sense of we were together in it, but it had to do with us.

In the dream I walked up to a door and pushed it open. From the doorway I saw a table in the middle of the room. And on top of that table sat a book. I walked over to the book and picked it up. I read the titled on the cover, “One Hundred and One Differences Between Us”. I opened the book to find there was only one page to read. On the page just a single line of text and I began to read it.

“The first difference between us concerns availability.”

As I neared the end of the line, the words began to fade and was replaced with a new line…

“The second difference between us concerns responsibility.”

Then once again the second line began to fade as I finished, only to be replaced by a third. This continued with each new line, fading to the next. I don’t remember specifically any other of the reasons except one that stated you love to ski. I knew immediately this would be a major problem as I do not ski. My last experience at skiing involved me throwing my body into the snow voluntarily in order to stop myself from taking out a group of nuns in a beginning ski class. How could you ever find one who cringes at the thought of two sticks of death clamped to her feet attractive, endearing and one you’d want to share an important part of your life? Inconcieveble.

Finally the book revealed reason one hundred and one. The final stating that you have already found someone and your souls are entwined. But it said nothing of mine. As with the others, the line faded. I waited for another reason to appear, anything…something hopeful, but the page remained blank. So I closed the book and set it back down on the table.

I turned to walk out the room, knowing somehow that the title had faded as well. Perhaps to become something else for someone else. I thought a moment of all I had read. Do those reasons matter? I didn’t know the answer. So I decided not to make a decision and just pulled the door closed behind me.

When I started reading this I thought I was going to get a "101 Things About Me" read. Interesting dream. Dreams are funny things. Do you have any idea what this dream is referring to?

Hi. I've been so inspired lately that I have been feeling like my feet had been swept off the ground. I imagine that it must be have been a little reality check my brain was exercising at the time, perhaps to remind me that my feet are going to have to touch the ground again eventually.
