Le Jour de l'Amour

Posted On: February 14, 2006 - 11:10pm by groovebunny

A few ladies in the office were running a pool this morning. The pool being, what time "I" would receive a flower delivery today. At stake was a box of See's candy.

I'm sorry to announce, no one won the candy because I didn't receive any flowers!

Oh well. I guess they'll all just have to share the box of See's and I'm gonna have to buy my own damn flowers.

I have pretty much given up the hopes for an overly romantic Valentine's Day. Which is kinda fine and it's kinda not. Because who is picking up the slack for the overly romantic missing in my life? The WeeOne!

Last week he borrowed a dollar from me so he could buy the girl he's had a crush on since kindergarten a Valentine gram. And then tonight as I worked on a new painting, he sat with me at the work table creating art of his own. The inspiration for his art...the girl he's had a crush on since kindergarten!

Awwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!

Now how many times have I fantasized that I could inspire someone to create something from the mere thought of moi (hate mail doesn't count!)? How many times even? I can't even count it on my fingers or my toes! And yet here is my kid, so moved by this girl's obvious beauty and charm that I can't even sing around him because he gets all gooey-eyed and starts talking about how they're in love and how he's gonna propose to her, and then they'll get married and have babies and then live happily ever after.

That's about the time I have to remind him they're only 7 and to slow down.

I have to admit, in all it's cuteness, I'm pretty envious. lol

My whole take on V Day this year was Bah Humbug. I don't need halmark to remind me how pathetically single i am. All the married ppl in the office tend to do that for me!

Well on the way home the other day Nico announced that Tamara (one of the girls in his kindergarten class) tried to kiss him. (hahahaha!) And that she was ok. Then he announced "She's my girlfriend" -- too cute. Then yesterday he said "I don't think Tamara likes me anymore..." poor kid got dumped for Logan.

Awww...poor Nico. Young love

Sorry, when I was going house to house, giving out romance, a strange man in a trench coat said you did not need any.

SSooooooooo, I passed your house without stopping. Terribly sorry, maybe next valentines day I will make sure you get two sets of flowers even if I have to kill your lovers to make them give you the flowers.

Sincerly

Well candy grams are just the beginning, Matthew is already calling his chica on the phone! OMG! I must tell you that I honestly do have the best job in the world, I mean I got to make a valentine's box with construction paper and all kinds of glitter and decorations with my class and then during our party the children filled my box with cards, it was the best, just like a kid again!

Liz you do have the best job

Liz you do have the best job in the world! :) Ofcourse the teacher always gets the most cards and candy. ;) Personally, I'm dreading the day Jakie starts calling his "sweetheart". hehe I'm sure I'll never be able to get him off the phone!

Very cute!

That is so sweet! I think kids are the ones who really appreciate Valentine's Day the most. I still miss making the shoebox mailbox covered in tin foil and filling out those flimsy little Flintstone cards. *sigh*

Julie, when I was in elementary the teacher gave us a paper bad and a heart doilie to glue on. Not nearly as nice as the tin foil wrapped box. lol
