You Asked! I'm Answering! :)

Wooohiiiieee! Answer Time

Thanks everyone for the great questions! And my apologies for being late on the answers. I was much too pooped to answer them last night. As Colby may be able to attest since I was even having problems typing during IM and he got tired of my lame IM skills and said “That’s it! I’m going to bed!” hehe

Okay so…

The coolest Canadian I know and for whom I will always be reminded of when shopping for ultra-low-rise-booty-surprise jeans, Nat asked:

1. Do you get stage fright? Being that I haven’t stepped on a stage for almost 2 years, I can most definitely say that if I were to get on stage today, I would be shaking in my boots and might even feel faint or like throwing up! Lol That’s how I used to feel for the first 10 years I was gigging. No confidence at all. By the end, I still had a bit of stage fright that basically manifested itself in me feeling exhausted and very, very sleepy. But I found that if I just gave myself time to get comfortable in whatever room I was playing that night, that feeling went away and I was able to perform no problem.
2. What's the best thing about being a mom? For me, the best thing about being a mom is just getting to watch this little guy who was cut out of my tummy grow each day. It’s amazes me how much of my childhood I hadn’t remembered until I was able to relive it through him. And to feel unconditional love for someone for the first time in my life, makes me believe all things are possible again.
3. Can I/we have a copy of your favourite recipe? Yes you may! I haven’t done this one since forever, but I may for the holidays. :)

Caribbean Coconut Shrimp
1 lb shrimp peeled and deveined

Batter:
3/4 cup of flour
1 egg
1/2 tbsp baking powder
1/2 cup beer

Coating:
1/4 cup of flour
1 1/2 cup grated coconut
1 tbsp salt
1/2 tbsp ground pepper
1/2 tbsp ground cayenne pepper
1/2 tbsp paprika1 tbsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp dried thyme1/2 tsp oregano

My favorite Floridian who has the Best Dog ever and the coolest taste in music and who I need to bribe into cooking me a meal one day, Colby asked:

1. Do you come from a musically-talented family? On my dad’s side yes! My dad’s family have this great love for singing. Family parties are always marked with a solos, duets and big sing-a-longs. It’s so awesome! But as far as talent, my dad has a voice as huge as Pavarotti, but can Bing and Sinatra just as well. And how romantic is this? Before he met my mom, he used to show up at the café where she worked and serenade her! See why my romantic scale is so over-warped? Blame my dad! Hehe :)
2. What is your favorite dish? Meat sauce spaghetti. Definitely the way to my heart is through my belly! lol
3. Any weird hobbies? Hmmm…weird hobbies. I can’t think of anything as exotic as wrestling alligators or charming snakes. But, I have been known to be the worse dresser ever while I paint. So painting is my hobby and I dress extremely weird while doing it. Lol

The lovely and barefoot Princepessa asked:

1) Where did the name Groove Bunny come from? Initially I was going to write under my yahoo nick, grooveladi. Groove came from the fact that I was a professional musician for a good part of my life, and the ladi…cause I am of the female persuasion. Hehe I signed up for an account at diaryland and forgot my password and could never get in. Finally giving up, I decided to just create a new nick. At the time I was desperately missing my Netherland dwarf bunny that I had as a pet for a good 8 years. So I just switched ladi for bunny and viola!
2) What are you most proud of? The one thing in my life I’m most proud of is my son. The second is that I gave birth to my son. The third is that I’m taking care of myself and my son and we’re doing just fine.
3)What do you do on Saturday mornings? Every Friday I tell myself I’m going to sleep in until noon on Saturday morning. But every Saturday morning I wake at 7:30, visit with my little guy for a bit before checking email and reading blogs that have updated. Then I let the dog out, make coffee and cook breakfast. It’s all very low key.

The intriguing Curator asked:

1. What was the last concert you went to? The last concert I’ve seen was Ours at Spaceland in Hollywood! Was fun! I’ve written before on my blog for my love for Jimmy Gnecco and his amazingly haunting voice.
2. What's your favourite summer attire? My favorite summer wear are tank tops and any kind of loungey type pants or shorts. And sandals are a must! For going out at night, it’s summer dresses and heeled sandals. Sigh How I miss summer.
3. Have u ever had writers block and not posted for a while? Oh definitely I’ve had writers block. Usually it happens when I’m going through some sort of turmoil that makes it too hard for me articulate anything I may want or need to say.

Welby, who I am missing updates from each day he is away, asked:

1. When you hear the word "vegetable" what is the first image that pops into your head? Asparagus! I can’t help it cause I love asparagus. Raw asparagus only though. When cooked, it’s just too slimely to deal with. And eggplant. I love eggplant but am allergic to it. My tongue gets itchy when I eat it…but I eat it anyways. :)
2. Do you think I should buy this Jeep? Yes you should! That is one smooth ride for the money! Looks super roomy. The carpet looks great! And I love the color!
3. Do you think you'll try to find the books and music recommended to you in these comments? I most definitely am going to take a listen and read all the books recommended here. Especially since lately, I’m on a huge book and music kick. Borders and Amazon are now my two newest bestest friends. :)

My fellow Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends loving Darek asked:

1. What is your favorite flavor of ice cream? French Vanilla. Lol I know a bit dull in this arena. But I’ve always just loved this flavor. Even as a kid. And now as a grown up, I also use vanilla oil as perfume. So yeah I’m a bit of a vanilla freak. :)
2. How often do you talk to your mom? I talk to my mom at least once a week if not more. If we’re not calling her, she’s calling us. Plus I also make it a point to get over to see my parents at least once a week. We have our moments because we are too much a like. And we can argue with the best of them. But she’s my mom. Things that have happened in the past are in the past and I’m over. Plus I love her to bits.
3. What is your job title? (The reason I'm asking is because I don't ever want to do anything that gets 21 voicemails over lunch) My official job title is….drum roll…AVP HRIS & Benefits. Although, you know how most people will have their title in their signature in emails and such for work? I leave mine out because it doesn’t nearly portray all that I do, do. Plus it’s not like I have my own personal go-fer so for me, it’s a funny job title that makes people go “wha???” when they hear it. Lol

The most straight-shooting and tell it like it is cool chickie there is,Noodge asked:

1. What is your second favorite color? Black! My favorite color used to be black, but pinks have pushed Black to second. So you can basically say pink is my new black. :)
2. What was your best friend's name in 7th grade? Wow. My best friend in 7th grade was a girl named Donna. I first met her when she came up to me during my first day at my new school. She asked me to have lunch with her and her friends. From that day on we were inseparable, spending all day in school together and then after school doing our homework. I was a tomboy who wore sneakers with my dresses while she was always a little lady with cute sandals and heels. She had the best laugh ever. It was a combination of this spastic giggle that would go on until she ran out of breath. She had this sparkle in her eyes when she spoke to you and now that I’m even remembering…she always looked me in the eye when talking to me. Never flighty. Never looking away dreamily as she described her latest crush. She always looked me dead in the eye so she could see that I was understanding what she was talking about. She moved away in 8th grade. We kept in touch through mutual friends and would see each other at parties. By the end of college we lost touch all together. And just a few months ago I heard she died. She had a clot in her brain is all I’ve been able to gather. Her family moved away and no one can get in touch with them. And sadly I don’t even know where she’s buried so I can pay my last respects.
3. If you could spend 2 hours with anyone (dead or alive) who would it be and what would you do? (ok, that was technically 2 questions) Well…given now that I’m thinking of my lost friend Donna. It would have to be her. I would love to speak to her about her feelings on her life. Her marriage and the two little girls she’s left behind. And also let her know how much I appreciated her friendship during those first awkward years of puberty.

My boyfriend would we have been born in different zodiac signs than we are, Bubaloo asked:
1) What do you think it is about you that makes you so special to all of us? Awwww. You make me blush you do! I really don’t know. I’m just an average girl. But if you want me to make a long list of what makes you all so special to me I can certainly do that no problem! :) Really, thank bub and to everyone else who continues to come here everyday and read my blabberings. It really means a lot to me that you come to visit more than you can ever know. You're the best or the best of the best in my book. ;)
2) What are you wearing? (lol) Haha! Right now I’m at work and had a coporate lunch to go to today plus a training session...so it's business attire all the way. Chocolate brown suit with a pink (surprise!) blouse underneath.
3) paper or plastic? Plastic. Only cause I’m a recycling mofo. And paper is for drawing on. :)

Miss Scarlett, the soon-to-be famous author and I will be able to brag about how I knew her when asked:

1.If you could do anything with your life, what would it be? I would totally do what I wanted to do when I was a little girl. Run off to Africa or India and run an orphanage. Grueling work yes. But Given all that I’ve been fortunate to have in my life, it would be good to be able to do something totally unselfish for a change.
2.If you were given the power to see the future, would you take it? As long as I couldn’t see how I would or anyone else I love would die, I would take that power in a heart beat.
3. What's the last really nice thing you did for someone else? Hmmm. Good question. It’s hard for me to answer that question because I never think of doing things and saying to myself, “Oh this is nice that I’m doing this.” I just do things because I want to. In the past, I’ve bought or renewed gold memberships for diarists on dland just cause I wanted to. Or visited Amazon wish lists and sent someone something off their list just because. If I had to think of a really nice thing and how it’s affected someone’s life? My sister is living with me for free. I don’t ask anything of her except that she get her dream business going so she can work on the creative things in her soul.

The WebMistriz of dland and completely cool & lovely chickie Dawn asked:

1.What would you do with $1,000,000? Oooh money! I wouldn’t pay-off my house cause I need the tax write-off! Lol. But I would pay-off my parents house. And I’d build a painting room for me on the hill in my back yard. Put a nice stash away for the wee one’s college fund. Order a lifetime supply of Ham and Cheese Hot Pockets for the wee one...and maybe buy myself one really nice piece of jewelery. A portion would go to charity and I'd invest the rest.
2. What's YOUR favorite movie? I have several! Accck! "The Three Amigos", "So I Married and Axe Murderer"...all the Alien movies, "Immortal Beloved"...
3. Who's the hottest man alive? I can’t even answer this cause the hottest man alive happens to be the marriedest man alive as well hahah. I’ll play it safe, it would have to be Johnny Depp. He’s my pick as strange as that man is. :)

The man whose incredibly beautiful writing usually leaves me in awe Pettit asked:

1. in a relationship with a man...are you a giver? or a taker? I'm a giver.
2. do you see yourself getting married again someday? I’d like to believe I’ll meet someone and be married again someday. I’d really love to grow old with someone I was completely in love with. And the thought of dying alone without having found someone to love until my dying day, scares the complete hell out of me.
3. where would you like to retire? My dream is to be able to retire and afford a nice cozy home on Kauai or Bali. But realistically, I’d just like to be able to retire with someone I can spend the rest of my life with.

Whew! That's it! Thanks again for playing guys! You rocketh the Casbah even!

I liked the Q & A... I steal it in a few weeks when everyone has forgotten how fun it was asking, as well as reading the answers.

Chef Colby here. . .

Meat sauce spaghetti? Are you kidding me? THAT'S YOUR FAVORITE DISH? Groove. . .how about filet mignon topped with crab meat and drizzled in hollandaise sauce with a side of asparagus coated with toasted sesame seeds and a twice-cooked potato to boot? A glass of Merlot, dahling? I can do both :) I know! I'll cook and you can sing. Heh.

Oh, and feel free to show us what these ultra-low-rise-booty-surprise jeans actually look like on a gal. I'm fashionally retarded.
